CU Phosco Lighting is the largest UK designer and manufacturer of exterior lighting equipment.
CU Phosco Lighting (formerly known as Concrete Utilities) is the longest established and premier exterior lighting group in the UK. We design and manufacture exterior lighting luminaires, floodlights, lighting columns and masts. Our lighting columns and masts range from 3 metres to 60 metres in height and can be seen on roads, motorways, at airports and ports, in shopping centres, housing estates and sports stadiums throughout the world.
We have, since 1923, led the exterior lighting market here in the UK and worldwide. From our head office in Hertfordshire we offer our customers a comprehensive package, from the initial consultation to the design and the final colour presentation of a CAD lighting scheme, through manufacture of luminaires and floodlights to delivery and installation.
Accreditations
As we grow, so do the choices for our customers. Our range of products; High Masts, Tubular, Octagonal, Tapered, Aluminium, Mid and Based Hinged columns are manufactured at our factories in Gloucestershire and Yorkshire. All factories are accredited by BSI against Quality Management System ISO 9001 and Environmental Management System ISO 14001.
Our lighting programme "Lighting Reality" offers our customers a simple and efficient method of utilising the comprehensive range of exterior luminaires, floodlights, amenity and period lanterns that are continuously being developed and tested at our Photometry Laboratory. Throughout the world, we have supplied and installed Columns, High Masts and exterior lighting systems for all markets including Sports Stadiums, Airports, Ports, and Roads and more recently for the expanding market in Telecommunications.

Our dedicated Contract Services Division is able to manage your projects in the UK, Europe and Worldwide. Contract Service
Our Contract Services Division is an experienced team that is able to supply, install and maintain high masts using their own CPCS and NICEIC accredited personnel. We have extended our services expertise in other associated disciplines and can now offer high mast lighting, street lighting, car park lighting and all associated cabling and civils works.
Area Lighting
CU Phosco Lighting has manufactured exterior lighting in the UK for 100 years in 2023. Whether it be supply only of LED lanterns for parks or the supply and installation of high mast lighting for retail areas, CU Phosco Lighting has the extensive product range and specialist knowledge to offer a full turnkey package for any area lighting project.
All our area lighting products are designed and manufactured in our factories in the UK. Lighting designs are completed by our in-house technical team who have many years experience in designing all types of area lighting projects.

CU Phosco Lighting works closely with numerous highways operators including TfL, Highways UK, Connect Plus Services M25, Kent CC, Derbyshire CC and Merseylink.
Through our LED innovation and state of the art product design we have enabled energy savings of up to 70% and reduced maintenance requirements whilst at the same time improving visibility, road user awareness and subsequent safety.
We design and manufacture a wide range of highly efficient, award-winning luminaires. Designed for high efficiency and ease of installation incorporating the latest in LED technology and control systems.
Our standard lighting columns are designed to European Standard BS EN 40 to take a wide range of lanterns and brackets and bespoke columns and brackets can be designed to your individual requirements. Our masts are fully compliant with ILP PLGP07 (TR7).
