iNELS Smart Hotel Solutions: Elevating Guest Experience & Optimizing Operations to European Standards
Updated: 5 hours ago
A modern hotel is no longer evaluated solely by its beautiful design or professional service. As guests become increasingly accustomed to seamless technology experiences, the smart operation behind every room has also become an important part of service quality.

From the moment a guest enters the room, the system can automatically set the lighting, temperature and devices according to a welcome scene. When the guest leaves the room, unnecessary devices can be switched to energy-saving mode. Hotel staff can also monitor room status and manage multiple functions from a centralized system.
This is the role of a GRMS – Guest Room Management System.
With iNELS by ELKO EP, lighting, air conditioning, blinds, sensors, access control and room scenes can be connected within one unified ecosystem. The solution is designed to achieve two goals simultaneously: enhancing the guest experience and optimizing hotel operational efficiency

1. Flexibility for Smart Hotels: Wired BUS & Wireless Retrofit
Every hotel project has its own architectural characteristics and infrastructure. iNELS addresses installation challenges with two flexible technology platforms:
Criteria | Wired GRMS (BUS) | Wireless Retrofit (RF) |
Application | Newly built hotels and resorts | Operating hotels undergoing renovation or upgrades |
Installation infrastructure | Dedicated BUS signal cabling for high stability | No wall chasing or rewiring required |
Scalability | Deep integration of lighting, HVAC, blinds and audio | Direct installation into existing wall boxes, ceilings or devices |
Operational advantages | Centralized management of thousands of rooms | Extremely fast installation with minimal disruption to hotel operations |
Wired GRMS (BUS)
2. European-Standard Design & Premium Guest Experience
In high-end hotel environments, technology needs to perform efficiently without compromising the aesthetic experience. Instead of having a wall filled with multiple switches for lighting, blinds, air conditioning and other devices, iNELS takes an integrated approach by combining multiple functions into streamlined control interfaces.
One notable solution is the Glass RFID Door Panel – a glass door control panel featuring Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), displaying the room number, doorbell and statuses such as Do Not Disturb (DND) and Make Up Room (MUR).
Inside the room, the Bedside Touch Panel allows guests to control devices directly from the bedside. Instead of searching for individual switches, guests can activate pre-configured scenes for common needs such as relaxing, watching TV or reading.
The Master OFF function also simplifies operation before leaving the room. With a single touch, configured devices can be switched off or placed into energy-saving mode. From a design perspective, control ranges such as LOGUS90 offer a variety of materials and finishes, allowing the devices to blend seamlessly with each project's interior design language.

3. Optimizing Operational Costs & Energy Management
Energy costs account for a significant portion of a hotel's operating budget. iNELS can reduce electricity consumption by up to 30% through smart automation algorithms:
Smart Card Holder: Accurately detects the guest's RFID card to activate room power, preventing guests from using plastic cards or business cards to keep the electricity running continuously while away.

HVAC automation based on door status: Window and balcony door sensors automatically switch off the air conditioning when guests open the door to let fresh air in, preventing unnecessary energy loss.
Welcome Scene: When a guest opens the door, the system automatically turns on the welcome lights at a comfortable brightness level and opens the curtains, creating a premium impression from the first moment.

4. Centralized Management System Integration (PMS & BMS)
The iNELS solution does not operate independently. Instead, it can be integrated with the hotel's overall management infrastructure:
PMS (Property Management System) integration: Connects directly via API with leading hotel management software such as Opera and Smile. Front-desk staff can monitor room status, check room temperature before guest check-in, and receive instant notifications for housekeeping or maintenance requests.
BMS (Building Management System) integration: Centrally manages HVAC systems such as Chiller/VRV, as well as lighting in lobbies, corridors, restaurants, spas and parking areas through a single interface.
