HOW NANNY WORKS
Place the sensor pad under the baby's mattress (note: position the pad directly beneath the chest area).
When the baby breathes normally, the green indicator light on the device will flash gently.
If the baby stops breathing for 20 seconds or the breathing rate drops below 8 breaths per minute, the red light turns on and a loud alarm sounds.

The Nanny BM-02 has watched over hundreds of thousands of babies. After many years, it finally has a smarter "sibling" with enhanced features - the BM-03. However, this doesn't mean saying goodbye to the BM-02: its predecessor has proven its success and market reliability, making it a classic worth keeping. So, what sets the new BM-03 apart?
The Nanny BM-03 is considered an upgraded and enhanced version of the BM-02, featuring several new functionalities for greater ease of use.
For instance, a key distinction is that the Nanny BM-03 is certified for respiratory monitoring in premature infants weighing as little as 1 kg, whereas the BM-02 is designed for babies starting from 2 kg. Naturally, both models can also be used for newborns in incubators.
Notably, it is the only monitor on the market equipped to track its own operational lifespan during automatic self-checks, alerting you if it exceeds its service life. It is powered by two AAA batteries.
Infant Motion Detection
First and foremost is a unique feature-detecting whether the baby is lying in the crib or has been picked up. The device will alert you if you have placed the baby in the crib but forgot to turn it on. The BM-03 also includes a reminder feature if you remove the baby from the crib and forget to switch off the monitor. The device safeguards your child 24/7.
Integrated Visual Alarm System
A practical new feature of the BM-03 breathing monitor is its integrated nightlight, allowing quick checks on your baby at night. The light automatically adjusts its brightness based on ambient light levels-dimming at night to avoid disturbing your or your baby's sleep. This eliminates the need for external light sources (flashlights, LED lights, or phone torches) in the room. If you need the light to stay on longer, simply press the light button again within 20 seconds to extend the illumination time.
This means you don't have to turn on any room lights, and if left untouched, the brightness automatically dims. The device is easy to switch on or off in the dark, and once activated, its alarm can be heard even through multiple closed doors.
Jablotron Nanny BM-03 Features an Integrated Alert Light
A key innovation is the built-in temperature sensor within the alarm unit. It monitors room temperature to prevent the baby from overheating, as excessively high room temperatures are a known risk factor for SIDS. Operating within a comfortable range of 16.5°C to 28°C, the sensor flashes an indicator light if the temperature falls below or rises above these limits. If the temperature drops too low, the indicator flashes blue. If it exceeds the upper limit, the light flashes orange, signaling you to adjust the room temperature to avoid potential risks.
Day and Night Mode
The new Nanny BM-03 automatically detects whether it is day or night and adjusts the intensity of its LED signal lights accordingly. The lights illuminate at a lower intensity at night compared to daytime. This feature is particularly appreciated by individuals sensitive to light while sleeping.
Two Sensor Pads for One Control Unit
Two sensor pads can be connected to a single BM-03 unit. Additional pads can be purchased separately as spare parts under the designation BM-03D, or as part of a convenient bundle. Up to around 6 months of age, a single sensor pad is sufficient. As soon as your baby starts moving around, you can add a second pad to the crib and plug it into the same alarm unit, which features dual connection sockets. Since both sockets are identical, pad connection order does not matter.
You can also leave the second pad in a travel cot or take it with you on trips. This saves space in the baby's sleeping area while ensuring you never have to worry about leaving the pad behind.
Lifespan of the Nanny Pad
Another new feature is the pad usage tracking system, which serves as an auxiliary indicator. It monitors the age of the sensor pad and notifies you during the automatic power-on functional check. If the pad has likely exceeded its specified service life, a warning sound will beep 3 times during each self-test every time the device is turned on. The pad has a service life of 2 years from the date of first use.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Place the sensor pad in the crib (stroller, etc.) beneath the mattress, directly under the area where the baby sleeps.
Position the sensor pad so that it is centered beneath the baby’s chest area.
The pad must be laid flat on a firm surface with the printed side facing upward, ensuring it does not bend or curve.
If the crib base consists of a slatted frame, place a solid board (such as hardboard or plywood) underneath the sensor pad.
The baseboard should not cover the entire crib bottom to maintain air circulation; it should extend approximately 3 cm beyond each edge of the sensor pad.
Insert batteries into the control unit, ensuring correct polarity as marked inside the battery compartment.
Mount the control unit securely (fastened to the crib, clipped onto the crib frame, attached to flat surfaces like walls or furniture, or secured using a mounting bracket).
